末期癌の父親は在宅治療中だが、たばこをやめる事ができず、７歳娘サラを使い妻に内緒でたばこを買いに行かせていた。事実を知った母はサラをきつく叱るが、それでも父親はサラにたばこをせがむ。お金を片手に町へ駆け出し、いつもの自販機で買おうとするが…。
Confronting her dying father, "The Errand" is the bittersweet story of a little girl's struggle with her own conscience and her dawning awareness of the difference between right and wrong.

カリフォルニア・サンノゼ州立大学で映画製作とメディア学を学ぶ。アメリカ在住中、日本のテレビ番組、 ニュース等の海外ロケ、取材に現地コーディネートスタッフとして仕事を始める。2004年帰国、百米映画社に入社。今回の『おとうさんのたばこ』は初監督作品。
Born in 1979, Shohei Shiozaki studied Filmmaking and Media Studies at San Jose State University. During this time, he worked as a coordinator and production manager for Japanese crews shooting in the San Francisco area. In 2003, he returned to Japan to join 100 Meter Films. "The Errand" is his first short film.
