A scientist toils away in a dark and dingy laboratory. He is attempting to create life with a combination of magic potions, a lump of clay, and science. When he leaves the room, his creations begin to evolve at an alarming rate; they engage in acts of war and love and ultimately discover religion. Filmmaker Michael Cusack says the film addresses "how, even though we are blessed with all the advantages, we seem to invariably self destruct."
